2017 Travel Trends

Travel Packing Items 2017

With 2017 already off to a quick start it’s time to start daydreaming about travel – where your next vacation will be, what the hottest destinations are and what experiences you want to have next. To get you started here are our travel predictions and trends for 2017:

1. Travel Experiences

In 2016 we heard from many of our clients that they wanted to experience things when they traveled, they wanted to feel what it was like to be a local and to focus on doing new things rather than buying new things. It’s our prediction that this will continue to grow in 2017 – especially with all of the uncertainty right now it’s even more important to take the time to experience moments that matter, try new things to make new memories and cherish the rush of trying something for the first time.

Experiences truly are a magical thing – and we can’t wait to see what experiences we can plan for you in 2017!

2. Travel Fit for a Foodie

Many resorts are becoming more and more sustainable and approaching dining from a farm to table approach either by sourcing from local farms or villages, and in many cases from farms on site at the resort. What this means is that guests are able to experience the freshest produce and ingredients as well as interactive activities such as working farm tours, local village farmers market trips and cooking classes (just to name a few).

We can’t think of a better way to spend vacation time than indulging in fresh local foods – remember vacation calories don’t count – so treat yourself!

3. Eco and Green Travel

More and more travelers are starting to think about not only their carbon footprint but the carbon footprint of the businesses that they interact with. We predict that in 2017 more and more resorts will get on board with this offering eco-travel packages, taking steps to have an eco-friendly property and offering benefits to travelers who help reduce their carbon footprint.

A win-win for all!

4. Health & Wellness

Year after year health and wellness travel has continued to gain momentum and 2017 is set to be one of the biggest years to date. With more and more people taking steps to live healthy lives it’s no wonder that incorporating health and wellness into travel plans is a major consideration that travelers take when planning. So whether it’s choosing a resort with fitness classes, a rejuvenating spa or even planning an entire trip around health and wellness staying fit is sticking around in 2017!

What types of travel trends do you think we’ll see in 2017? We’d love to hear your comments!
